Louisa was basically jumping up and down on her hair in her car seat she was so excited. Beside her, also strapped in, Rio her Riolu looked just as excited as she was. An academy! She was going to a Pokémon academy! Sigma academy! Oh dreams come true! Pokémon to meet and learn about; new people to befriend; lots of grounds to explore, oh how brilliant. It felt all so surreal, and how she was going to do here in lessons she had no idea, but she knew she was going to enjoy it, who wouldn’t?!
The car pulled up outside the large building and Louisa was out like a shot, Rio right behind her. Although it was dark as night was almost upon them, there were lights out the front that illuminated the large academy that was right in front of the little eleven year old. “Wow...that’s big...” she said in awe as she stared up at the old building.
“It sure is, though it seems a little smaller than when I was here last,” Jeff her dad smiled as he got out the car and walked over to beside her, also looking up at the academy as he slipped an arm around her shoulders. “How are you feeling? Still eager to get in there and start?”
“Oh yes, dad!” Lou looked up to him, her eyes sparkling in the lamp light around them. “I want this so much! It’s going to be brilliant!”
“I know, darling, I’m sure it will be,” Jeff smiled. “Come on, let’s get your bags out the car.” He turned and walked to the boot, opening it. He had known this time was coming, Lou had always been independent and eager to move forwards in life. This would probably do her a lot of good, if he could let her go. He picked up her suitcase while Rio climbed onto the edge of the boot, picking up the small rucksack and then jumping down again, proud with herself for the small achievement, and for having something to do that would please Lou, and get them inside quicker.
“Thanks, dad,” Lou smiled as her dad passed her the case, then hugging him tightly. “I’ll miss you dad, and mum too. I’ll write lots.”
“You do that,” Jeff smiled, kissing the top of her head affectionately. “We’ll be waiting for them.”
Lou smiled and nodded as the pulled away from him. Then, she turned and ran towards the academy doors, suitcase in hand and Rio running beside her with the other small bag. Opening the front door her eyes lit up in happiness as they drank in the light, colour, decoration and space. She turned, waving goodbye to her dad as he got in the car and drove off. Once he was out of sight, Lou turned back towards the reception and walked slowly inside, taking it all in as she headed for the desk, now wheeling her suitcase behind her. Despite all the adrenaline racing around her body she was still feeling slightly overwhelmed. This place...it was just...wow! So amazing! It was big though, and she had a feeling she was going to get to know it very well when she got lost here repeatedly trying to find her way around
At the desk, she had to tilt her head up a bit to see the receptionist as she was quite short. “Hello! I’ve just arrived and was told I had to sign in,” she smiled excitedly.
